How to make Leche Flan
Hint: It’s easy.
This is a Filipino dessert that is so delicious. It is easy to make. Another name for Leche Flan is Crème caramel.
Leche Flan Ingredients
1 can of condensed milk
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white vinegar (this will take the egg flavor out of your flan).
Leche Flan Step by Step.
Step 1. Separate the egg yolks from the egg white. Use only the egg yolks. Whisk the egg yolks together. Add 1 teaspoon of White Vinegar. Add the condensed milk and keep stirring. Add condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Step 2. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar in a pan on a hot plate. Let it heat up for a little while and pour hot water over the sugar, just enough to cover the sugar. The sugar should melt very quickly. Pour the melted sugar into a round pan. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Step 3. Pour the egg yolk mixture into the round pan over the melted sugar.
Step 4. Cover the top of the round pan with aluminium foil. Put the round pan into a bigger pan so that the bottom of the pan doesn’t reach the bottom of the bigger pan. Pour hot water into the bigger pan ready to steam our flan.
Step 5. Put the bigger pan with the smaller pan into the oven. Steam in 200C for about 30 minutes.
Step 6. After streaming, let the mixture cool.
Step 7. Put the round pan upside down on a plate so that the Leche Flan flops out with the caramelized sugar running off the top of it.
